by oziel in Uncategorized

WHAT IS NOTARY PUBLIC

The Ohio Secretary of State has appointed a Notary Public. A Notary Public is a public officer appointed by the Ohio Secretary of State. They can administer oaths or certify depositions and take and certify acknowledgments and deeds of mortgages, deeds, powers of attorney and other writing instruments. This jurisdiction can be used for anyone who is physically located in Ohio regardless of their state of residence.

Notary Publics cannot draft or prepare legal documents, or help others do so. This is known as the unauthorized practice of Ohio law and could result in a fine or imprisonment.
